A GROUP OF MATES STAGED THIS PHOTOSHOOT AFTER GETTING FED UP WITH THE AMOUNT OF POTHOLES ON THEIR LOCAL ROADS
We’ve all had that horrible lurching feeling when our tyre, wheel or foot lands in a pothole and we’re thrown off balance with a crunch. Potholes are blight on society and a constant source of angst between road-users and council, apparently nowhere more so than in Lithuania.
In order to create awareness around the absurdly poor condition of the roads in Kaunas (the second largest city in Lithuania), a group of friends created this hilarious photo series with the help of professional photographers Arturas Artiusenka and Eurika Balciute. The friends, collectively known as Z999 decided to stage the photo shoot to draw attention to the pothole infested roads that plague the city.
‘Not only this was a great experience for us,’ said one of the group. ‘Many Lithuanian magazines became interested in the project and these pictures as well. None of the photos were made to offend our government; it was just a fun way to express Lithuanian citizens’ thoughts.’
